PCI CT 19 SuperGrip Contact primer, special primer for difficult substrates, 1 l stand-up pouch
PCI CT 19 SuperGrip contact primer
Fast-drying special primer for secure bonding of ceramic coverings, natural stones, and wall and floor leveling compounds on difficult substrates
Features and benefits
- For indoor and outdoor use
- For difficult substrates including rigid PVC
- Very strong adhesion, creates a surface with good grip
- For low-absorbent and non-absorbent substrates
- Fast-drying
Fields of application
Special primer and adhesion primer for difficult substrates in indoor and outdoor applications.
Can be used under tile adhesives, under floor and wall leveling compounds and for plastering work.
Suitable for use on:
- Mastic asphalt screeds
- Concrete, vacuum concrete
- Wooden substrates such as rigid floorboards, chipboard or OSB panels
- Floor leveling compounds, tiles and natural and artificial stone coverings
- Lime, lime cement and cement renders, gypsum plaster and gypsum planks
- Fiberboards and plasterboards
- Old substrates with adhesive residues
- Rigid PVC coverings
Prepartion of substrate
Substrates must meet the requirements of the relevant standards for building work, e.g. ATV DIN 18 365. In particular, they must be clean, crack-free, firm, dry and free from substances which may impair adhesion. Completely remove old water-soluble adhesives; remove adhesives which are not soluble in water to the extent this is possible.
Substrates Requirements and conditions:
Concrete, prefabricated concrete components | At least 3 months old, rough surface, remove any dust, dirt, formwork oil, cement paste etc. |
Floor leveling compounds | Vacuum-clean |
Dispersion-type paints | Only in private residential areas, no permanently wet areas, only indoor use; clean, sand down and vacuum-clean |
Epoxy resin reaction paints, rigid | Only in private residential areas, no permanently wet areas, only indoor use; clean, sand down and vacuum-clean |
Screeds with water-resistant adhesive residues | Thin layer, firm adhesion, free from floor covering residues and substances that may impair adhesion. Remove adhesive residues as much as possible, vacuum-clean. |
Tiles, natural and artificial stone coverings | Clean thoroughly, remove remains of floor care products, sand down if necessary and vacuum-clean Note: In areas which are under water, the use of bonded waterproofing on the product is essential. |
Fiberboards/plasterboards (Walls) | Boards must be rigid, remove dust d ≤ 12.5 mm |
Gypsum plasters, gypsum planks (P IV a/b, P V) | At least 28 days old, only privately used areas (for commercial projects, consult PCI), moisture content ≤ 1.0 wt %, no moisture from rear, free from dust |
Mastic asphalt screeds (GE 10; GE 15) poorly sanded | At least three days old, only in private residential areas (for commercial projects, consult PCI), vacuum-clean |
Heated screeds | Observe the technical information sheets issued by ZDB and BEB |
Wooden floorboards | d ≥ 24 mm, tongue and groove, securely screwed, rigid; sand down and vacuum-clean |
Chipboards / OSB boards classes P3, P5, P7 or OSB classes 3 and 4 | d ≥ 22 mm, staggered joints must be glued, securely screwed, rigid; clean, vacuum-clean |
Dry screeds, e.g. fiberboards | Vacuum-clean, joints must be glued, d ≥ 25 mm, follow manufacturer’s instructions |
Cement screeds | Moisture content ≤ 2 CM%, heated ≤ 1.8 CM%, vacuum-clean |
Rigid PVC | Firmly positioned, clean, sand, remove dust, only in private residential areas |
Application procedure
Stir PCI CT 19 before use. Immediately after stirring, apply the primer using a brush or short-pile roller in a thin coat without puddles.
When the surface has thoroughly dried, it must be scratchproof. Clean the tools with water after use. Hardened material may be removed with a solvent or paint stripper. Immediately close the pail after use. Use up any remaining product as soon as possible.
Please note
Do not pour CT 19 into the drain. Do not mix CT 19 with other additives. Please refer to the technical data sheets of PCI products for which PCI CT 19 is recommended as a primer.
For absorbent substrates use PCI CT 17 Primer solventfree.
For safety and disposal instructions, please refer to the safety data sheet.
